Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 t. baking powder
3/4 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt

Directions
Cream together sugars, peanut butter, and shortening. Add egg and mix well.

Slowly add dry ingredients. Roll dough into balls walnut size and flatten with fork.

Bake at 350° until golden brown.

Ingredients
1 c. softened butter (2 sticks)
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
6oz. chocolate or butterscotch chips (optional)
1/2 t. vanilla

Directions
Combine butter, peanut butter, sugars, and eggs. Stir in baking soda, flour, and remaining ingredients.
Mix well and drop by teaspoonful onto a cookie sheet, leaving 1-inch space between cookies.

Bake in a preheated 325° oven for 10 minutes or just until set (depends upon sized of cookie).

Remove to wire rack to cool. Store in refrigerator for best taste.

Makes about 50 cookies.
