Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°
- Slice bacon into 1/2 inch strips and cook until crisp (I put bacon on a parchment lined baking pan and bake at 400° for 10-15 minutes)
- Make pie dough and bake in 9" pie plate for 5 minutes
- Slice onions and cook in butter until tender
- Mix shredded cheese with flour
- Beat eggs and add milk, salt, and nutmeg
- Spread cheese, then bacon, then onion into pie shell
- Pour egg mixture into baked pie shell
- Bake 15 minutes at 450°
- Reduce heat to 350° and bake 10 to 15 minutes until custard sets and knife inserted to middle comes out clean
- Cool 10 minutes before serving
